Looking for truck with a blade on the front
« on: March 05, 2012, 01:44:35 PM »
As we get ready for this weekend's Cochrane rally, we're looking to see if anyone has a registered and insured puck-up with a snow blade on the front end. We're looking at PROBABLY having to open up a handful of radio and spectator positions along the stages on Saturday and it will take forever with shovel crews. (we have probably a dozen locations to open up.)

(We can probably look at covering registration and short term insurance if need be)

They are calling for a fair bit of snow over the next few days, but we need to look at our options for making sure we can run a safe event. (If they plough the road, there will be bigger, harder snowbanks than there were we we checked on Friday)

Or maybe someone with a snowblower?

I would suggest a quad with a blade might be easier to use, but it depends. If the snow is wet and heavy might not work so well.

Snowblowers, bobcats and quads would have to be loaded and unloaded regularly which would make the effort a pain in the ass and take forever. (no OHVs on the roadway) we're talking about cutting down some snowbanks that have been around a while.
