Upcoming solo events - Sept. 16/17
« on: August 29, 2017, 10:14:03 AM »
Next events:  There are RDSCC events coming up next (Sept. 5 and 17) and CSCC (SASC) championship #11 in Red Deer (Westerner) on Saturday, Sept. 16.

Registration for CSCC/Red Deer on Sept. 16 is here:

https://www.motorsportreg.com/events/cscc-sasc-championship-event-11-2017-09-16-westerner-park-calgary-sports-578188

The next SASC (CSCC) Championship Event #12 is at YYC/Calgary on Sunday, Sept. 17 and I just opened up registration for it here:

http://msreg.com/sept1717sasc

Therefore, in a sense, we have a double-header on Sept. 16-17 but with Saturday in Red Deer and Sunday in Calgary (YYC).

Bump for the events, and for the Saturday in Red Deer - between having a tutorial for my students (although it's the first week, and unlikely any will show up), and being mired in home renos, there's about a zero chance I can make it - which means I can't set up a course.

If someone wants to take a shot at designing for the Red Deer lot, you are welcome to. I can supply a blank digital "background" file you can draw in a course on, either digitally or the old-fashioned way, with pen and paper. Failing that, I can recycle one from the catalogue of past courses and send it on to whoever's running the event.

On the topic of whoever's running the event... The person I thought was lined up to officiate this event has had to back out and we are presently seeking somebody to fill this role!

Greg:  email me the map and I'll come up with something.  Tom is doing the Sunday design.

SASC also has a meeting tonight and I'll find someone to run the event - should not be a problem.

Thanks so much!  Please let me know what you guys are able to figure out as soon as possible so I can let Westerner Park know the name of our newly appointed officiator and so I can see if they are also capable of carrying (and caring for) the timing equipment so that I can find an alternate helper there as well if necessary!

Course design for Sat. Sept 16 - Champ #11 .... ok I don't have the f'ing option to attach it.   go to the SASC forum if you want a copy.

Doesn't look like I can make it but passing this on to Cam and he will print copies for tomorrow.

Championship #12 is tomorrow (Sunday) at the YYC/Budget lot just north of the Calgary International Airport!

Weather is looking good, registration is closed and we have a record of 111 entries.  We will be running 3 heats.  Come early because:

Gates close at 8:50am, on site check in closes at 9:00am.

So come early (you have to walk the course anyway, Tom threw in a few "tricks" in his course design so you should take a good look at it and get your plan together.

Also, as soon as you arrive, sign the waiver and get registered/signed in on the 'puter.  Jo will be in her silver Mazda 3 near the start line for that.

See you in the morning!
