2017 Current Helmet stds

Some new people (and others) have asked about helmets.

SCCA added some new stuff and have a handy reference (below) and ASN/FiA Canada has theirs:

FYI:

Anybody have any advise regarding brand and style for helmets?

First, read the rules, twice.  Then pick a style depending on what and where you plan to race:
Caged or tube-framed car?  Must be SA certified, not M certified.  And most SA (all?) helmets are full face style.

As for brand, that is a personal choice.  You *must* go try on helmets to see which ones fit you.

Also please note that our events use the ASN safety and helmet rules, so the additional SCCA allowances are not approved here.

Thanks for all the info, now to start shopping for an appropriate helmet. I went to a few motorcycle shops today, unfortunately it's proving somewhat difficult to find a snell 2015M or SA 3/4 or open face helmet. It seems that the vest majority of the helmet selections in stock at motorcycle shops are only DOT approved.
Can anybody suggest a shop in Calgary or an online store?

Jo and I bought our open face Shoei helmets (Snell M2015) from GW Cycle World.

Pretty sure that Shawn stocks/sells open face Snell helmets (forget the brand).
