I drove it's sister car the FRS today they have a 6-speed that's working it's way around Calgary, if you get a chance sometime this week it's making rounds to the different Toyota dealerships. Definitely worth a test drive.

It'll be at Heninger Scion this Saturday

I had a go too. More room inside for me that I would have expected, helmet will still be a challenge but...

The rest of the car is fantastic. In comparison to the S2000's F20, the engine feels much more usable. It's not powerful by any means, but has more torque than I expected, sounds great and is quick to respond. The car's balance is not neutral like an S2000 or a Miata is "neutral" but certainly tossable. I would say more forgiving and accommodating to different styles of driving. Certainly a nice weight to the steering and very easy to find the proper timing to make the car do fun things.

I was encouraged to enjoy myself, and I did on wet roads.

There are a few aesthetic details on the inside that I'm not excited about, but it's no Hyundai or Ford.

Because of the high demand for test drives I only got to drive it for about 10 minutes, but it feels really fantastic, and the seats are ready for racing right out of the box, and everything is where you'd expect it to be. The shifter is awesome, honestly it's the best car I've driven, not that I've driven so many, but I was really impressed.

I'd agree on the inside details, it's pretty boy racer but as a 20 year old male, I'm eating it up, could go without the faux carbon fibre on the dash though, love the gauge read out though

A different car I expect; you will have to wait for a bit before you may be able to test one at an AutoSlalom event.

How hard (or easy) is it to turn off the gription control... err I mean Traction Control?

I've heard that on some newer cars, turning off the traction control (and other driver aids) is a cumbersome process? Like for instance... press the button for 10 seconds, tap the brake pedal, say a prayer and so on... before it is completely off.

On a more serious note, this (the FRS or GT86) is looking like a really great car! I hope to own one someday... in 8 to 12 years maybe for a used one? When the price of a used one had depreciated enough to the point when I can afford one. I'm such a poor ass bastard

I have a tC and it's fairly easy, you just hold the button down, not sure how long, but the dash tells you when it's off, but you do have to be stationary and you have to do it every time you start the car. The FRS has the trac and ESC separate so you can turn them off independently from each other, but I assume it's process to turn them off is relatively the same to the tC

Also I'm sure you could remove the fuse for it if you wanted to just have it off all the time, I'm looking at doing this on my tC

Yeah I want to own one too, but I'm probably going to wait and by one seccond hand in a few years and use it as a race car
