Hey I'm looking to find an AEM V2 CAI for the civic, not looking to buy new and trying to spend as little as possible on this.

One must first ask if it is even worth it?
Not ripping on the Civic but could the money be better spent.

I found in my 2003 Elantra the intake was a nice addition, i'm betting the civic will respond similar. I'm only looking to spend about $20-$40 on a used intake, enough civics around that I should be able to find a used one in decent condition.

Personally on my cars, I find the intake upgrade makes more noise, but no difference at all in performance..... aside from the few times the filter cones falling off......

I have always noticed better throttle response and better acceleration, u have to get the right ones tho, ebay intakes are just that, an ebay intake, not really tested for overall performance just test fit and sold for profit. AEM has a great reputation and that is what i'm looking for to put in the civic.

on a stock civic, no real difference will be noticed. as me how i know
you willl however notice a decrease in fuel economy... and some noise.
money is better spent on tires/wheels suspension. the corner go fast bits.

Not sure I believe it, how did my Elantra manage to find gains but a civic doesn't? I wouldn't mind doing an intake mod like what I did on my Cobalt, keep the stock airbox but modify the lower section to create a velocity stack, not sure if the civics stock air intake is capable of this or not, if so I'd do that over spending money on a full intake.
if you know of any CHEEP suspension parts for my civic let me know

If the kid wants a intake, or grounding cables or even a passager ejection seat (comes standard on my car)
WHO CARES,
WHO CARES if it does or does not make the car "Better"...
The car is his to what he wants with it...
If it is to make the car look like a fvcktarded dinosaur (and someone has done that in Calgary)
WHO CARES
what is the worst that happens...
There is one more Ricer in Calgary. (like anyone would be able to tell)
or
Some kid in a Honda revs his car next to me at the lights (and me and my GF laugh at him).
or
While Neal is filling up his RX7 (which is required ever 23km), some kid in a Honda comes up to him and
Kid "I was the guy that was just racing you"
Neal "Racing, what are you taking?"
Kid "I drive that civic over there and I was almost able to keep up to you on Deerfoot."
Neal "A was doing 118 and not racing anyone"
Kid "this is your car right" (as Neal is putting gas it)
Neal "??? Yes ???"
Kid "well, this is the car I was racing, and me and my civic were hanging"
Neal "
sure
"
(and Neal and I laugh about it at wings next week)
again who cares...
If you have cheap parts, or know where to get cheap parts, let 'Sky know.
If not let this thread die a slow death (please)

I actually appreciate the up front honesty people have given me, at this point I'm not sure if I believe them or not tho. Just for the record, I know for a fact that in my 2.0L 2003 Elantra I found better throttle response. The AEM intake I bought for the Elantra was a full cold air intake, I tested it several times as a short ram and as a full cold air intake. The short ram got amazing throttle response and off the line was very peppy, the full cold air was not quite as peppy off the line but it gave me much more up top than with the stock intake or the short ram intake. Now, I won't get into the specifics of how/why that worked for me the way it did but i think it's fair to say that if I managed to find gains in a 2.0L N/A Elantra engine that a 1.6L Civic engine should also find similar gains with a similar Cold air intake from AEM.................can somebody prove me wrong? If someone can prove me wrong I am more than happy to spend my money on suspension parts intstead.

Well as far as im concerned the butt dyno means nothing for bolt ons, if you had dyno sheets for both then it would be proven.
I had a fight with a person on another site who said she could feel the extra power going from 91 to 94 octane fuel, nope sorry your car will not idle better, and you will not feel the power gain from the ECU that has a 91 octane tune in it.
Same as a K&N filter, I really don't think the butt can tell if the car is making more power.
Just IMO, so I can't prove you wrong but you can't prove you right so rock on and spend at will.

Now if the kid in the Honda plays his cards right he can find Neal in like 20k when the engine is ready to fail and then do a big ricer fly by as the engine fails, this will then make him a hero to all his friends.

It's a really hard one to call..........I want to say my butt dyno is right but you have a valid point in that butt dyno's can be very deceiving and sometimes very wrong. For now I am going to at the very least drop the bottom half of the stock intake off(resonator ewww) and see about the possibility of an airbox mod. The airbox mod I had on my Cobalt is dyno proven and flow tested, if I can replicate the same airbox mod for the civic it may just net me the extra flow numbers and with a proper tune extra hp. All in all the airbox mod won't cost me anything, can't hurt to try it right?
FYI, K&N to my knowledge does NOT test at all beyond sea level, AEM tests a various altitudes. If I did the airbox mod I would be looking for an AEM dryflow to replace the stock airbox filter.
