Stay away from the NX1600, althought not as bad as the nx2000, they are hard to get parts for.

NX1600, should be easy to get OEM equal parts for... the NX2000 is a much better car but some parts are tougher as they and the B13 SE-r sentra are a little rare

Buy Ian's Contour if it's still available.  I drove that beast at Nationals in Saskatoon last year.  While it's not the fastest STX car out there, it can still surprise a few people (I came away with a trophy).  And it was damn fun to drive.  Plus it has a good local history.

I might have contact info for Ian.  If I can find it, I'll PM you.

I drove the Contour when it was still Tracy's at a WAX - it's like your sister, everyone's had a ride - lol, JK.
It was impressive- lightened flywheel, the swaybars an Konis, and the Quaife made it a surprising performer. I had the fastest single-run time of day, as I recall, though I didn't win on the combined. If the car's still around, I'd be on it too, although at that price I'd be surprised, unless it's been damaged or something since Ian got it - if another racer hasn't bought it, some 18 year old probably has it delivering pizzas.

Did you check out this SVT Contour posted on the board a few weeks ago, which Keith linked to earlier in this thread?
http://cscc.speedracer.ca/forums/index.php/topic,9522.0.html

SVT Contour was the factory hot rod, got a lot of good go-fast stuff - engine, brakes, stiffer springs and struts, thinner front, heavier rear bars - good stuff. This one has an engine swap to a larger displacement one - you'd want to find out what all it has there. And be aware things like struts may not be inexpensive parts-store items.

I would buy an old Honda CRX.

GReat for solo 2, handle nice, parts everywhere, and run for fricken EVER!  if you don't want problems don't buy turboed, in that price range.

especially Talon, unless you want to fix it after, and during every event, ask me how I know.  or.... ask Matt how he knows.

My talon has been great, and I beat on it constantly. I think the owners of the vehicle are more important than the cars themselves... *cough*

Very Happy

Take the CRX, add water to the fuel tank then run the car until it dies, park beside your garage for 6 months and spend the next year trying to get the rust out of your system. The same applies for Talons.
