I know it is discouraging Dan but, as the Brits say, keep your pecker up!  Clap (no idea where they get that saying from) and hopefully we will see you out on the track soon!

Good luck with the fix.. I was in the same run group as you, pretty shocking to see the fireball underneath the car.  Good thing you're safe, I was thinking "damn, I hope he gets out of the car right away!"

No problem getting the truck there ASAP.  Last thing I want to see is anybody's car going up in flames.

I'm glad to hear you will have it back in shape later on in the season and it's too bad this had to happen.  We are all glad nothing happened to you and that the car can be fixed.

In a word, this:

(Something oil related went pop on the main straight, he had a moment in turn 1 driving over his own oil, and on the back straight figured out something was totally wrong and shut it down.)

Some of us managed to do a bit of both events that weekend. Wink

As I said at the track, hope to see you out soon.  If I can give you a hand with the motor let me know.

Cool picture, thanks for posting,  looks like I found my new background. If there are others I'd love to see them. Just to clarify, the front iron of the engine cracked at the oil galley and high pressure oil ignited on the hot turbo, but the picture says it much better. I will be starting reassembly tomorrow so i might just make the lapping day.

It is a good thing tire trucks are not rotaries.

I have had a car go on fire racing before and it sucks a whole bunch, glad to hear all is good.
