Ship it, it will cost you 2k and it is dropped at your door.

Well shipping is an option but the car I am looking at is a private deal so there is a comfort factor in seeing before dishing out the money!

Matt, who did you use for shipping and from where?

But I am still interested in the insurance question. Did very one who drove a car just take a chance or is there some insurance out there?

Hansen the first time and DAS the second, I vote for Hanson DAS are homo's. One car from Mariland and one from Pennsylvania, saw each one for the first time when it got here.

Wasn't it 4warned (Chris), with Keith, who brought up that Shelby Mustang from Texas last summer? - Try asking one of them about insurance. That was a fairly big buck car and a long drive; and they had a nice little travel log...

When I did it, I just called my insurance company and told them I had just bought a car, gave them the VIN, told them when to activate the insurance (i.e. I set it for the day before I went down).   I had my temporary pink slip (faxed) within 30 mins.  No issues.

Tracy - give me a ring if you're looking for answers......but yet, i had insurance put on the vehicle(s) using the VIN and had a pink slip faxed over right away.....Your company saying something about a 14 liability doesn't make sense......i simply asked for the same coverage as my EVO and it was done like that....they don't need to see a bill of sale...hell, i could insure your car with a VIN number (but i won't.....).....

Hmmm....speaking of which they have a bunch of Shelby, Roush, Foose (don't know how it is spelt), GT500, California GT, Bullitt and what-not Mustangs right across the street from my office...... new 2007 Shelby GT was advertised in today's paper for something like $36-38 G's if I remember correctly - Sunset Ford in Westminster, CA.
